Celebration of Life is Noon Monday, January 16, 2017 at United Christian Church, Apostle Maurice K. Wright, officiating. Interment will follow in Lincoln Hill Cemetery.
Visitation with the family is the hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Odessa Howard Parker was born in Titus, Elmore County, Alabama on December 28, 1933 to the union of the late Vander & Evelyn (Knight) Howard.
Odessa received her formal education in the Elmore County School System.
Odessa was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to the late Johnnie Patrick Parker,Sr. Their union was blessed with four children.
Mrs. Odessa Parker departed this life on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama.
Odessa was preceded in death by two sons, Herman & Wallace Howard; four sisters, Juanita Mitchell, Wanda Mae Getaw, Gladys Buycks, Margaret Malek and two brothers, Esco Howard and Frederick Howard.
She leaves her most cherished memories to her children, Peggy (David) Hill, Eufaula, AL, Delba (Lloyd) Jones, Kalamazoo, MI, Johnnie Jr. (Debra) Parker, Gadsden, AL, Roderick (Traci) Parker, Pinson, AL; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren; brother, Min. Willis Howard, Miami, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends too numerous to name.
The family of the Late Odessa Howard Parker would like to take this time to thank all for their love, thoughtfulness and prayers during their time of bereavement. Your kind acts were greatly appreciated.
