Dorothy Mae (Ball) Johnson was born May 11, 1953 to the late Charlsie Lee Ball in Piedmont, Alabama.

Dottie accepted Christ into her life at an early age.

She was educated at Bethune High School in Piedmont, Alabama.

In 1970, she had the opportunity to move and spent almost 25 years in Boston, Masschusetts. In 1994 she moved back to Gadsden, Alabama where she spent the rest of her life nurturing her family. During her later years in Gadsden, she worked as a CNA at McGuffey’s Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Dottie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.

Dottie's life came to an end on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Riverview Regional Hospital. Predeceasing her in death was her daughter, Chantelly Yvette Johnson; sister, Doreen Ball and her husband, Oscar B. Densmore.

She left to cherish her precious memories, her children, Patricia Johnson, Gadsden, AL, Thomas (Miranda) Johnson, Centre, AL, Christopher William (Frances De Anna) Johnson, Gadsden, AL; grandchildren, Christina (Jakeenan) Timmons, Christopher Dix, Seyvon Benford, all of Gadsden, Hezekiah Pace-Johnson, Jeylen Pace-Johnson, Centre, AL; great-grandchildren, Christalyn Johnson, Damion Johnson, Krystal Johnson, Ja’Querah Timmons, Amari Snow, all of Gadsden; brothers, James Ball, Henry “Shirley” Ball, both of Gadsden; special nieces, Pamela Ball, Taja Ball, both of Gadsden; special cousins, Jean Ludy, Linda Ball and a host of other family and friends.
