Music by The Piano Brothers

Michael Devon Ray was born in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio to the parentage of Laura Lee Ray and Benny Lee Patterson on February 27, 1985.

A few years later, Michael relocated to Attalla, Alabama, spending his childhood years attending Duck Springs Elementary School and graduating from Etowah High School with the Class of 2004.

While growing up, Michael was a faithful member of the local Boys and Girls Club and enjoyed the camaraderie he shared with the other children. He was very active in sports and participated in every event offered to him.

It’s no surprise that the University of Alabama was his favorite college team. Football ended up being his favorite sport and he played full-heartedly every chance he got.

Michael’s outgoing personality and jovial spirit took over the presence of the room whenever he entered. You could always see a smile and you were sure to get a hug from him automatically. Michael heard his call and answered on March 31, 2017.

Michael leaves his most cherished memories to one daughter, Rakiah Ray; two sons,  Ja’Cion Ray, Ta’Mire Ray, all of Dayton, OH; parents, Laura Lee Ray, Dayton, OH, Benny Lee Patterson, Letohatchee, AL, Scott and Diana Hilton, Attalla, AL, Alvin and Mary Bolton, Attalla, AL; special grandmother, Lueteshia Thomas, Attalla, AL, grandmother, Otis Mae Patterson Taylor, Letohatchee, AL; three sisters, ShaWanna Roper, Gadsden, AL, Kanesha Byers, Dayton, OH, Aly Hilton, Attalla, AL; two brothers, Robert Ray, Dayton, OH, Danny Hilton, Attalla, AL; two nephews, Cameron Ray Daughtery, Gadsden, AL, Albert Webb, Dayton, OH; one niece, Christine Banks, Dayton, OH; three aunts, Debra Roper Dupree, Attalla, AL, Carolyn (Andre) Shanklin, Dayton, OH, Barbara (Joe) Bradshaw, Roanoke, AL; two uncles, James Earl Ray, Dayton, OH, special uncle, Randolph Dupree, Sr., Temple, TX; special friend, Tiffany Montgomery, Dayton, OH and a host of other family members and friends.

In your sorrow, may there be peace…….In your thoughts, may there be love…...In your hearts, may there be healing. Psalm 147:3 promises:”He heals the brokenhearted, He binds up their wounds.”

May the true God comfort you and your family with His promise to raise the dead at John 5:28,29 and to undo all the pain and sorrow that death causes at Revelation 21:3-5.
