Joe Nathan Williams, Jr.

It is with deep sympathy, we announce the passing of Joe Williams, of Gadsden, AL, who passed on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the age of 53.  We ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Joe Nathan Williams, Jr., was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1970, to the parents of Joe Nathan Williams, Sr., and Stella Oliver.

He later moved to North Carolina where he graduated from Terry Sanford High School. There he played high school football.  He then moved to Gadsden, AL where he attended Gadsden State Community College and obtained his CDL. 

Joe was a kind hearted and gentle person.  He was an avid football fan, favoring the Philadelphia Eagles and the Alabama Crimson Tide.  He enjoyed listening to music and traveling. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Oliver, and his father, Joe Nathan Williams, Sr.

Joe Nathan Williams, Jr., departed this life on March 12, 2024, at the age of 53, after a long battle with diabetes.

He leaves to cherish his memories six wonderful children, Jazmone Williams and Jamya Willams of Jacksonville, FL, Joe Nathan (Ami) Williams III, of Nakameguro, Japan, Zycara Maxwell and Jourdyn Williams of Gadsden, AL, and Joel Williams of Attalla, AL; two grandchildren, Stella and Kayla;  uncle, John Will Oliver (Faye Jones); brother, Vincent (Remonia Heard) Oliver;  step-sister, Karen Spriggs; girlfriend, Aleatha Edwards; nieces and nephews, Patrice Heard, Brian Heard, Ahmad Ross Brian, Jeffrey Collins, Richard Gadson and Jazmin Gadson; a host of other family and friends.
