Linda Hackett Obituary

With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Linda Hackett-Johnson of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 67.  We ask that you pray for her family and friends during this difficult time.

Linda Lynn Johnson Hackett was born on November 2, 1957, the sixth of seven children born to Martha Ophelia Southerlin Johnson, in Cherokee County, Centre, AL.

Linda was educated in the Cherokee County School System, graduating with the class of 1975.

Lynn was known as a lover of life and always lived each moment to its fullest.

Lynn grew up in Shiloh Baptist Church as well as St. Mary United Methodist Church, at that time everyone went to Shiloh on the first and third Sundays of each month and to St. Mary on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.  Later she joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. ABA.

Lynn was united in holy matrimony to William Faye Hackett on December 2, 1976, this union was blessed with one child.  

Lynn’s favorite pass time hobbies were entertaining, her doors were open anytime, loved listening to music, dancing, eating out, and playing cards, she had a love for writing, and she also had beautiful penmanship, she had an exceptional love for her family and special friends, she had the kind of personality that to know her was to love.

Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, William Faye Hackett; sons, Stacey L. Hackett, and Steven Hackett; mother, Martha Johnson; brother, Charles Johnson; sisters, Charlene Covington, Donna Dean, and Debbie Malone.

She departed this earthly life on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at McGuffey Healthcare in Gadsden, AL.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her son, Antonio Hackett, Centre, AL; daughter, Bridgett Hackett, Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Jerica Hackett, Toria Ludy, Deonna Hackett, Jakobe Stroup, DaKota Dobbins, Jayshawn Stroup; brother, Curtis Johnson, Centre, AL; sister, Beverly (Billy) Dunbar, Conyers, GA; aunt, Eunice Moore, Gadsden, AL; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Terell, Kizzie Dixion, Victor Dixion, Latoya Malone, Christopher Malone, Erica Malone, Kim Johnson, Roscoe Covington, and Peter Pan; special cousins, Marcia Kendrick (caretaker), Samuel Wyatt, Constance Woods, Allison Bowers, Tammy Covington, and a host of other relatives and friends.
