Mickey Lee Robinson was born August 30, 1941 in Collinsville, DeKalb County, Alabama. She was the oldest of four children born to Bertha Moon. (Mickey’s father was James L. Hill).

 

At an Early age she confessed faith in Christ and united with Collins Chapel United Methodist Church, Collinsville.

 

Mickey was salutatorian of  the 1959, graduating class of Gregory High School;  she attended Business College and earned a degree in Business Administration.  At the age of 18, she moved to Chicago, IL, moved to Orlando, FL in 1994, and moved to Centre, AL in 2000.

 

On December 30, 1965 she was united in the bonds of holy matrimony with Melvin Robinson, and to this union a daughter was born; Cassondra Michelle Sullivan.

 

Her work history was varied. Her first job was at the Spiegel Catalog Company, she was a Line Supervisor at Miracle White Detergent Factory, secretary at Carthage Catholic School, and Traffic Control Officer, at the Chicago Police Department, from which she retired in 1994.

 

Mickey loved fishing, going on outings and traveling with her longtime friends, Janice Upshaw and Turnis Davis.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, and her beloved dog, who she called her son, Prince Charles.

 

Mickey leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Cassondra Sullivan; two sisters, Janice Curtis, Chicago,IL, Nannie Sue Brooks, Centre, AL; brother, Mike Moon, Chicago, IL; two half-sisters, Annie Bell Hill, Doris Coleman; beloved niece, Christy Curtis; nephews, Stan (Summer) Brooks, Stacey (Lindsey) Brooks; special family members, Emma Lindsey Trimble, Susie Jackson, Mattie Jones; special friends, Nelda Davis, Turnis Davis, Dora Norton, Donna Overmon, Janice Upshaw; a host of grand-great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 

Celebration of life services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Collinsville Chapel United Methodist Church, Pastor Joe Moody, Pastor;  Pastor Diane Williams, Officianting. Internment will follow at Anthony Collins Cemetery, Collinsville, Alabama.
