Connie Elizabeth Knight transitioned from her earthly vessel to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

Connie Elizabeth Knight  was preceded in death by her parents, the late Willie B. and Zora Mae Knight.  Connie was one of eight children which include the late Wilbert (Rosa) Knight, Lithonia, GA, Mary (Micheal) Hall, Stone Mountain, GA, Loretta (Erwin) Weston, Loganville, GA, Myrtle (Freddie) Baker Martin, TN, Maggie, Marvin, and Tonya, all of Stone Mountain, GA.  Also to cherish her memories and legacy are nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces, and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.

Connie accepted Christ at a very early age at Macedonia Baptist Church.  After moving to Decatur, Georgia, she became a faithful member of the New Birth Missionary Church. Connie was well on her way to becoming a leader within her church through their Leadership Development Program.  She was active with Women on the Path, Evangelistic One, Community Outreach Events, Toy Distribution Christmas and feeding over 5,000 people at the Super Bowl Outreach event.  Connie loved the Lord and her faith was very strong.

Connie received her early education in the Gadsden City School System, graduating from Gadsden High School.  After high school, she matriculated Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama where she received her Master of Business Administration degree; here is where she received numerous awards and certificates for her academic and community achievements.  Connie was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  during the Spring of 1983  at JSU with Roslyn Coar, Franchetti Carson Delaine, Benita Harrell-Hale, Teresa Hawkins-Williams and Karen Thomas Stevenson.

Connie worked for Alabama Power Company in Birmingham, Alabama for over 15 years; also at BellSouth/AT&T for 25 plus years - until she became ill.

Connie was very understanding and welcomed everyone with open arms.  She was always willing to help anyone.

She loved and nurtured her plants…..

            Planting seeds of knowledge

Encouraging growth of sprouting Christian Faith

Propping up leaning limbs that have bowed down heads

Nourishing leaves with diligent showers of faith & prayer

… see a beautifully developed blossomed bouquet.
