At an early age, she confessed faith in Christ with the Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Jarrett, where she served on the usher board. Later she united with the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Gadsden, AL, where she was a faithful member of the choir until her health declined. She dearly loved singing for the Lord.

Sis Clara was a member of SOAR and the Steelworker Retiree Chapter 36-1, District-9, where she served as co- chaplain. She loved to fish and play at the  Casino!!!!
