On February 10, 1935; Billy Gene Miller Sr. was born to the parentage of  Mr. Thomas Henry and Leona Terrell Miller, in Etowah County, Alabama.

Billy received his formal education in the Gadsden City school system, and graduated from Carver High School.

Billy lovingly provided in abundance for his family, as a farmer. He learned the art of gardening and shared the bounty of his labor with family and friend alike. Believe it or not, despite his rough and tough exterior, he loved his family, and didn’t mind showing them how much. He would often sit them down, and share stories of how he played the trumpet in his High School band.

On February 14, 1953 Billy married the love of his life, Elizabeth Crocton. Thier union was blessed, 9 children were born.

He was known, to all who knew him, as an excellent cook, accomplished fisherman, hunter, and an avid Auburn football fan. Billy left a lot of great memories for his family to cherish, one being a song that he loved to play on the trumpet entitled, “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes”, by the Platters.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, Billy passed away peacefully. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Tondra Aurelia; siblings, Thomas, Otis A., Virginia, William Cullen, Ralph Waldo, Annie Jo, Leona, and Benjamin Miller.

Billy is survived by his children, Vickie McGinnis, Gadsden, AL, Billy G. Miller, Jr., Bonita (Paul) Seekon, both of Minnesota, Mari Miller, Winston Miller, Hugh Jonathan Miller, Mia A. Miller, Kellie Rebecca Huff, all from Gadsden AL;15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jimmy Crocton; sisters-in-law,Georgia Woods, Ruby (Bill) Billups, Gail Sparks, Mary Miller; special friend, Jack Agricola; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many lifelong friends.
