Elizabeth Swain was born on December 8, 1931 to the parentage of Ora and Wesley Swain in Talladega, Alabama.

Elizabeth accepted Christ at an early age and spent her later years attending church at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Elizabeth met and married her husband, Clifford Higgins, Sr. and to this union ten children were born.

Anyone who knew Elizabeth understood her love for cooking and providing for her family, along with her husband. Oftentimes, she would fish when she had the chance or you could catch her in the garden, admiring her hard work.

After an extended illness, Elizabeth passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Higgins, Sr.; daughter, Brenda Clifton; son, Reginald Higgins; son-in-law, Lamar Clifton; sisters, Thelma Lynch, Luella Higgins, Mandy Swain; brothers, Howard Swain and Duke Swain.

Elizabeth leaves her beautiful cherished memories to her children, Clifford ( Loretta) Higgins, Jr., Cedar Bluff, AL, Gloria (Julian) Curry, Jimmy (Eula Mae) Higgins, all of Gadsden, AL, Diann (Preston) Stallings, Dora (Johnny Mack) Moore, all of Cedar Bluff, Carolyn (George) Wheeler, Birmingham, AL, David (Ann) Higgins, Gadsden, AL, Mark (Eva) Higgins, Fayetteville, TN; daughter-in-law,  Jacqueline Higgins; sister, Annie McGee, Chicago, IL and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Not very much to say or do that will help in this time, if we could we would say it and do it, but we pray for comfort during this hour, God Bless
