Music by The Piano Brothers

Mr. Emerson Crook was born June 26, 1941, the third of ten children to the late James “Jack” Crook and Rena Crook in Attalla, Alabama.  Emerson confessed his faith and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.  He united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. T.P. Walker. He cherished his position as a past trustee of the church.   After graduating from Norris High School, he served in the United State Army for four years.  Much of Emerson’s fun times were spent at Gulf State Steel where he retired with 35 years of service.

Emerson enjoyed fishing, going to trade day and cooking.  He enjoyed cooking so well until he purchased five pressure cookers at the same time. He loved to dress.

On June 26, 2018, the Lord called Emerson home to eternal rest.  May his soul find peace, favor and acceptance with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  May his good works live on forever.

Emerson was preceded in death by his parents, James “Jack” Crook and Rena Crook; brothers, David Crook and James Crook; sister, Neniah Crook Greathouse; nephew, DeAngelo Crook; mother-in-law, Eartha Bell Wallace; father-in-law, Elvin Wallace and brother-in-law, Edward Wallace.

Emerson leaves to cherish his blessed memories, his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Ella Wallace Crook; two loving children; daughter, Debbie Crook of Saks, AL; son, Patrick Crook of Attalla, AL; granddaughter “Apple of his eye” Iesha Crook of Oxford, AL; five sisters, Linda, Gloria, and Cynthia Crook of Anniston, AL; Alma Crook of Attalla, AL; Melody Elery of Gadsden AL; one brother, Homer Crook of Gadsden, AL;  sisters-in-law, Dorothy Crook, Williene Wallace and Laura Crook, brother-in-law, Johnnie Greathouse; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
