Carol Denise Hardnett was born on October 16, 1960 in Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama to the late Ms. Gladine Hardnett and Mr. Lestt Headen.

Carol attended public school in Gadsden, Alabama and was a graduate of Gadsden High School, Class of 1979.

Carol confessed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and remained a faithful member of St. John C.M.E. Church until the Lord called her home. During her lifetime of serving at St. John C.M.E. Church, she held many positions; Stewardess, Missionary Society, culinary Director, Praise Team, President and Board of Christian Education officer.

In June of 2001, Carol was united in holy matrimony to Mr. William Ellis Heard, to this union two beloved children were born.

Carol departed this life on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Gadsden Regional Hospital. She has been reunited with her family in Heaven, her mother, Gladine Hardnett; father, Lestt Headen; daughter, April Hardnett and sister, Melody Patterson

Carol leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband, William Ellis “Billy” Heard; devoted daughter, Tiffany (Jason) Woodard, devoted son, Xavier Hardnett; two devoted stepdaughters, Taura and Willette Heard; beloved chosen daughter, Tamera Rice; six loving grandchildren, Jasmine, Zariah, Xaviera and Xavier Hardnett, Jr., Ja’Mya Pierce, Jordan Heard; one great grandson, Kaysen Hardnett; two sisters, Gloria Elaine Kyle, Rita Hardnett; special sister, Melissa Hardnett; three brothers, Stephen G. (Valencia) Headen, Theodore (Vanessa) Headen, Wayne (Sharon) Headen; sisters-in-law, Jeanette, Tomasina and Brenda Green, Pontiac, MI; uncles, Roosevelt (Vicki) Hardnett, Jr. of Colorado, Rev. Freddie (Shari) Scott, Birmingham, AL, Glenn (Lydia) Glover, Gadsden, AL; special niece, Stephanie Kinard; two nephews, Tory Patterson and LaBrannon Hardnett; special cousin, Larry (Lois)King, Gadsden, AL; special friends, Latonya Daniels, Pamela Luker, Jeanetta Boldware, Vicki Shack-Ecxford, Cathy Tuck; chosen niece, Alexandria Shack; special daughters, Veronica Figueroa, Dequinda Sawyer, Farren Williams and a host of loving cousins and many dear friends.
