On January 12, 1951, Tommie Matthew Robinson, Jr. was born to the union of Tommie Matthew and Velma Swain Robinson, Sr., in Gadsden, Alabama.

At an early age Matthew accepted Christ as his personal Lord and savior, and joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend W. M. Mallory.

Matthew received his formal education in the Gadsden school system.  And for 38 years he worked faithful at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Matthew's love for his family was beyond compare. He was very soft spoken, kind hearted and compassionate man and will always be remembered for it by others.

On February 13, 2020, Matthew answered the master's call and departed this earthly life for his eternal rest.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roosevelt Robinson; daughter, Jacqueline Stewart; grandson, Timothy Matthew Robinson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Dorosalind Robinson; children, Dr. Tommie Matthew Robinson III, Almeta Nicole (Nardo) Dunn, David (Margaret) Haygood; sisters, Veronica (Theotis) DeRamus, Linda McAplin; brother, Wiley Lynn Robinson; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; aunts, Nellie Frances Bent, Alice Harris; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life will be 11:00a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Gadsden, Rev. Roderick B. Thomas, Pastor, Pastor Michael Rice, Eulogist. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
