Florine Kelley was born May 2, 1949 to her loving parents Allie and Jennie V. Kelley, Sr. in Attalla, Alabama.

Florine accepted Christ at an early age and committed her life to him by being baptized and united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Attalla, AL.

Florine was educated at Attalla Jr. and Norris High School, graduating class of 1967. She entered the work force after graduating and shortly thereafter moved to Oakland, CA. She attended Laney College, where she studied business administration. After completing her studies, she began employment with J. C. Penny Co. as a Collection Agent/Customer Service Rep. for 10 years. Afterwards, she began employment with the University of Berkley as their Retirement Representative and Counselor.

Florine united with the Love Center Church under the pastorate of Bishop Walter Hawkins. She served faithfully under his ministry by giving of her time, substance and spiritual gifts to the works of up building the Kingdom of God. She later joined Destiny Christian Church in Freemont, CA under the pastorate of Pastor Paul Shepherd. Florien was a true humanitarian. She lovingly gave her life to serving God, her family, friends and even strangers on the street with joy. She prepared care packages for the homeless with whatever she thought they needed on a regular basis. She was often denied herself for others and was happy to do so. She was a pillow of help to her family that she loved dearly. She was a nurturing mother figure to her nieces and nephews and was a Godly example of guidance as she gave of herself.

Florine was a great Godly example as she secretly endured her own pain and sickness. She continued her Godly work until her health suddenly failed. Florine went from labor to reward on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Jennie V. Kelley; sister, Jeanette Underwood Ramsey; brother, Walter Underwood.

Florine leaves many cherishing and joyful memories to her five sisters, Catherine Underwood Card, Oakland, CA, Elizabeth (Richard) Wilson, Gadsden, AL, Dorothy Kelley, Huntsville, AL, Mary Billingsley, Rainbow City, AL, Geraldine Henley, Attalla, AL; two brothers, Allie (Reda) Kelley, Jr., Gadsden, AL, Larry (Jan) Kelley, both of Gadsden, AL; special niece and nephew, Renita Underwood Hackett, Okari Ramsey; special friend, Pastor Sandy Coleman, Oakland, CA; a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Celebration of Life will be 12 Noon Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Mt. Zion Full Gospel Church, Attalla, Pastor Harold Kimble, officiating.

Ms. Florine Kelley was my beautiful neighbor and friend whom I had the pleasure to know for over 14 years. She was always a warm spirited and humble human being, who gave of herself to lend a hand, kind word or prayed for and with you, if you needed it.

My beloved friend is in a better place and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to know and love her. I know the Lord greeted her with open arms and a smile, saying servant well done.

Sending love to her beautiful family during this difficult time. Thank you for showing me love during the midst of your storm. Lord continue to strengthen, encourage and be with them.

Always,

Paris Chablis Gordon
