Fannel Renay Turner was born July 30, 1973 to Willie T. Turner and Gloria Jean Whitehead.

Her formal education was received in the Etowah County, AL system.

Renay’s life has been a blessing to everyone she came in contact with.  She was a beautiful soul inside and out.  She was a woman of many words: outspoken, candid, but most of all a loving and caring person.  Everyone that met her can tell you how amazing she was.  Constantly placing others above her own needs and was always been willing to give her last.

Renay spent 46 years on this earth and On May 19, 2020 got her wings and is walking with the angels.  She was proceeded in death by her loving parents, Willie and Gloria, grandmother; Mattie Howell, and nephew Cornelius Turner.

Renay is survived by her daughter Beonka Turner, Gadsden, AL; two sons Deantey Turner, Columbia, SC; Paris Jones, Gadsden, AL; grandson Marcus “Stank” Davis, Gadsden, AL; two god-sons Samontrea Townsend and Sametreon Blount, Gadsden, AL; two god-daughters Azane Howell, Aurora, CO; Samineyen Blount, Gadsden, AL;  three brothers: Terrance Smothers, Gadsden, AL;  Tyrone Stroud, Atlanta, GA; Jamar Whitehead, Montgomery, AL.  Four sisters:  Janice (Eli) Booker, Julia (Roderick) Coleman all of Gadsden, AL; Cassandra (Jason) Townsend, Douglasville, GA; Kimberly Carter, Tennessee.  Aunts: Linda Wills, Della Whiteside, Maimie (Freddy) Timmons, Gadsden, AL; Sherrell Vaughn, Detroit, MI; Sylvia (Darrell) Terrell, Lawrenceville, GA.  Uncles:  Darrell Howell, Lawrenceville, GA; William Brown, Deramus Whiteside, Gadsden, AL.  Sister-Counsins: Mashawnda Vaughn, Latosha (Ben) Jenkins, Lawrenceville, GA, Erica Howell, Aurora, CO, Gail (Roosevelt) Wilson, Gadsden, AL;   Sister-Friends:  Cathy Vinson and Monica Jones.  Nephews:  Marlin Thomas, Ontario Thomas, Jason Townsend, Joshua Townsend, Joshua Jelks.  Nieces: Ashley Stroud, Keyondra Whitehead, Jamaya Whitehead, Jakiyah Whitehead, Jennifer Jelks.  One Sister-in-love: Regina Jelks.  Special daughter’s:  Keara Coleman, Alexis Pace.  Special son’s:  Andreas Waker, Robert Treadwell, Kord Rudolph, Tony green, Maliq Croft, Tae Henry.  Special friends:  Mr. O.T., Ms. Bay-bay, Jackie Malone, Tara Holston, Nicole Robinson, Carmen “LadyBug” Cox.  Father-Like:  Broddrick McClough and Anthony “Simple” Goggins.  A host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and dear friends.   

Celebration of Life will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Etowah Chapel of Adams Buggs Funeral Service, Pastor Roderick Thomas, officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be 1-3p.m. Friday May 22, 2020 at the funeral home.
