Cassandra Irene Everhart Rigby was born on May 21, 1961 to the late Eddie C. and Fannie Mae Everhart in Gadsden. She was the youngest of 8. She was known to many as "San" or "Miss San".

She was educated in the Gadsden City School System where she was a proud graduate of Gadsden High School in 1979. Throughout the years she has remained close friends with her classmates. Many of them celebrated their 50th birthdays with several parties and she was looking forward to start celebrating their 60th birthdays in the coming months.

Cassandra confessed Christ at an early age at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under Rev. H. L. Spruill. She later fellowshipped with her children at First Missionary Baptist Church, Alabama City, under Rev. Dr. John M. Woods.

She was a hard worker all of her life, at times working two jobs to support her children.  She was employed by Wendy's for over 30 years and currently served as the Store Manager of Wendy's of Attalla. During her tenure at Wendy's, she was noted for giving so many people their first job. Most knew her from working at Wendy's with her warm smile that came with her great customer service.

“San” was one of the biggest "War Eagle" fans you would have ever known. She loved everything about Auburn University. For the past five years, she attended the Iron Bowl to tailgate with her kids and grandkids. This past year she attended her first Auburn game, the "Epic" Iron Bowl, in which Auburn beat Alabama. She was so ecstatic! She got a chance to go on the field and take pictures with some players and "MANY" random Auburn fans. She said all the people at Auburn University were her "cousins". Lol!

She was married to her "high school sweetheart", the late Ramon Rigby, Sr. and to this union three children born. She loved Ramon, even though he was a star athlete for her rival high school.

Cassandra left her Earthly vessel on May 31, 2020, with an unknown battle with Cancer. She went on her own terms with minimal suffering and her kids and grandkids by her side. Cassandra was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Barbara Ann Tallie; her beloved brothers, Samuel D. Washington and Carlton Everhart.

She leaves to cherish her legacy, five children: two daughters, Reshondrea (Anthony) Owens,  Tekeisha Threatt, 3 sons, Rev. Jhe'dreion B. Rigby, Ramon Rigby Jr., Jeremy Rigby, all of Gadsden, AL; her nine deeply loved grandchildren, A'Veunta Poe, Jahvaronze Dillard, Ce'De'Janique Poe, Ty'Teonia Rigby, Alyriq Owens, Deontavious Williams, Deon Williams, Serenity Jones, Chyna Suttles,  two great-grandkids, Promisee and A'Nilah Poe; two sisters, Shirley Jackson, Atlanta, GA, Deborah Everhart, Cleveland, OH; two brothers, James Talley, Gadsden, AL, Marcus Everhart, Birmingham, AL;  mother-in-law, Mrs. Eva Mae Rigby, Gadsden, AL; two sisters-in-law, Debra Jean Rigby, Cherri Evon Rigby, Gadsden, AL; three brothers-in-law, James Rigby, Ryland Rigby, both of Gadsden, AL, Eugene Rigby, Douglasville GA; cherished cousin, Fredrick Crayton, Greensboro, AL; two god-daughters, Torlando Duckett,  Brianna Malone, both Gadsden, AL; special friends, Monica Tywmon, Wendy Gordon, both of Gadsden, AL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Celebration of Life will be 2:00p.m. Monday, June 8, 2020 at First Baptist Church ~Alabama City, Rev. Dr. John M. Woods, officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Viewing will be 4:00-6:00p.m Sunday, June 7, 2020 at the Etowah Chapel of Adams-Buggs Funeral Service.
