With heartfelt sympathy we announce the passing of Eunice Louise Hunter, 72, of Gadsden, who transitioned Wednesday, October 7, 2020.

Eunice was born July 18, 1948 in Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama to the union of the late Ouster and Annie Mae Johnson Hunter. Her formal education was received in the Gadsden City School System, graduating Carver High School Class of 1966. After high school, she attended Gadsden State Community College where she obtained an Associate's Degree in Education.

Eunice accepted Christ at an early age and united with First Baptist Church of Green Pastures under the pastorate of Rev. Gabriel Cook.

Eunice was a hard-working woman that left no stone unturned to care for the needs of her family. She worked for over 25 years at HealthTex. When she wasn’t working you could always find her enjoying the life and the fruits of her labor. She loved to have a GREAT time wherever she went and she enjoyed sitting on her porch loving on all her flowers. She was admired for growing the biggest sunflowers from around the way.

Eunice departed this earthy life on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur “Bubba” Hunter, Walter Hunter, Amos Hunter; sister, Michelle Hunter Thomas.

Those left to cherish her many fond memories are her children, Eutina Hunter, Otha Rutledge, Timothy Rutledge; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; six sisters, Annie Wilson, Alice Knight, Sarah Sims, both of Gadsden, AL, Ella Ruth Norman, Huntsville, AL, Sandra Hunter, Katherine Hunter, both of Gadsden, AL; three brothers, John Henry Hunter, Edward Charles Hunter, Ouster Hunter, Jr., all of Gadsden, AL; aunt, Willie Pinky Lewis, Roanoke, AL; best friends, Louvenia Martin, Irene Williams, Billy Dixon, Billy Smith, all of Gadsden, AL; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
