With heartfelt sympathy we announce the passing of Bernice E. Mitchell of Gadsden, who transitioned Friday, January 15, 2021. Services to be announced.
Bernice E. Mitchell was born to the union of the late Henry Blackwell and the late Ethel Jones Blackwell. She entered into the world on March 2, 1927 in Ripley, Tippah County Mississippi. She later moved to Gadsden AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jessie Mitchell, twenty siblings and grandson Leroy Johnson.
Her busy life can to an end on Friday, January 15, 2021. She confessed Christ at an early age. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church, Attalla, AL. She later joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Gadsden, AL. She was a retired registered nurse.
She leaves to cherish many happy memories, two daughters Evelyn M. Mitchell Parker, Attalla, AL; and Betty J. Mitchell Johnson, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her only living sibling Geraldine Blackwell Price, Strutevant, Wisconsin. Eight grandsons: Richard (Noreen) Johnson, Milwaukee WI. Anthony Parker, Felton Parker, Attalla, AL. Darryl (Andrea) Johnson, Milwaukee, WI. Donovan (Wanda) Parker, Attalla, AL. Reginald (Chenida) Parker, Charlie (Tanesa) Parker, Gadsden, AL. James (Patricia) Parker, Greer SC; five granddaughters: Gloria Johnson, Cheryl Johnson, Milwaukee, WI. Cynthia Malone, Della (David) Parker Andrews, Minnie Parker, Gadsden, AL; and a host of relatives and friends.
