I met Val as a young lady attending Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University. I would often visit Val and Nedra during my academic career. She supplied love, wisdom, and insight to a budding African American Educator. I appreciated the sisterly bond we shared. I will forever love the Thomas family for sharing Val with me. I want the Thomas and Harrison family to know that Val’s love, Godly spirit, and family values will be greatly missed. Farewell to my sister in Christ!

I got a chance to know my cousin Valery well during the time she went to school in my home city of Huntsville, Alabama. She would attend church service with me and my parents and later eat out on Sundays. Sending prayers of comfort and peace to Valery's family and friends.

Sincerely,

Val and I grew up together and lived across the street from each other on Davis St. We last talked about a year ago and enjoyed introducing our kids. She will truly be missed.

Oh Val, I’m soooo going to miss you. You are one of the sweetest most precious God loving people that I’ve met in a long long time. Always smiling, spreading the Gospel of St. John version of the Bible., just truly being the Christian that you were. Well baby, I’m going to make you a promise that I’m going to stay in Bible Study and continue to learn, and I’ll let The Prophet know I’m there because I had just been listening and not signing in. So I’m not going to say good bye, I am going to say see you later Babygirl. So for now Fly High our Beautiful Angel, Fly High. My sincere and deepest condolences to Wilber and the Children. May God give U all strength.♥️♥️♥️♥️ Mrs. Faye Wright-Gary
