It is with heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Annie Harris of Gadsden, AL, who traded time for eternity on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the age of 59. We ask that you keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
Our Angel, Annie Harris
Born at the stroke of midnight on July 13, 1944, in Talladega, Alabama. Annie Harris graced the world with a warmth and compassion that knew no bounds. From a young age, she embraced the role of matriarch, not just for her immediate family but for all who crossed her path. Annie’s heart had room for everyone, whether tied by blood or bound by the power of love. To know her was to be loved by her, and she made sure there was always a place for you in her life.
Annie’s spiritual journey began early, when she was introduced to the Lord. While living in Detroit, Michigan, she became a devoted member of Hope United Methodist Church. Later, upon returning to her beloved Alabama, she found her spiritual home at New Canaan Baptist Church, where she remained a loyal and faithful member. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her every step and inspiring others around her.
Annie’s professional life was a testament to her profound care for others. Her career in the medical field allowed her to express her deep passion for helping those in need. Even after retiring from that noble mission, Annie continued to uplift her community as a trailblazing entrepreneur. Alongside her late husband, she founded The Dynamic Lounge, a blues haven that became a hub for connection and joy. Together, they also managed 17 rental properties, through which Annie transformed lives—not just by providing housing but by offering guidance, encouragement, and even transportation. She was a blessing to many, embodying the essence of selflessness and generosity.
For Annie, family was everything. Her great-grandchildren—Deking Harris, Madelyn Harris, and Jaxon Henry—were the light of her life, and she adored them with a boundless love that knew no limits. She would go to the ends of the earth to express her devotion, and her joy in their presence was unmatched.
Annie Harris will forever be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her radiant smile that could brighten the darkest of days, and her unwavering strength and grace. She was a remarkable woman—beautiful, intelligent, and sophisticated—whose kindness and leadership touched countless lives. Annie’s legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Kobe Harris; her daughters, Felicia Albert, Dequinda Harris and Shannon Harris; her great-grandchildren, Deking Harris, Madelyn Harris, and Jaxon Henry;
her siblings, Mary Swain, Brenda Curry, Terrie Beavers, and Linton Beavers, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
