Mrs. Annie Gussie Smith, affectional known as Mother Smith, was born February 15, 1927,to the late Thomas and Exiel Simmons of Childersburg, Alabama.
She transitioned from her earthly body to be with her heavenly father on March 23, 2023.
Mother Smith was a woman of Great Faith. She spent her lifetime serving God, her family and her community. She served faithfully at the United Christian Church in many capacities; a teacher, administer , and a mentor too many young people. She loved singing hymns, making her ceramics and selling them.
For God, saw that her weary body and spirit had grown tired, and he said you’ve fault a good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith, now there is in store for you a crown of righteousness, which the Lord that God will award you.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Smith;son John Wesley Brown ; sisters, Beulah Hughes, Edith Whitson, Mabel Morris; brothers, Charles Simmons, Thomas Simmons, Vonseal Simmons and Ralph Simmons.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories. Hey son call Simmons (Christy); five grandchildren, Andrea(James) Williams, Michelle(Mike) Black, Carl Simmons Jr.(Denise),Jequetta Simmons, Carnitha Mennefield(Paul); eleven great-grands,Jamel(Ebony) Morgan, Antwon ,Janea ,Marvin,Hannah,Rikki,Simone, Tony,Julian,and Juda; eleven great-grands, Kennedy,Grayson, Journey,Mateo,Bailee Jamel Jr., Niaomi,Kyrie,Tyree,Jenesis,and Jayonni.
