With heartfelt sympathy we announce the earthly transition of Mr. Anthony Madden of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the age of 66.
He is survived by his family.
Mr. Anthony W. Madden Sr. was born on September 20, 1955, to the late Mr. Claude and Phyllis Madden.
Anthony was affectionately known to all as “Ham”. He confessed to Christ at an early age and joined Grant Chapel A.M.E Church.
Anthony was a 1975 graduate of Emma Sansom High School where he was a star basketball player for Coach George Baker.
On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Anthony entered his eternal rest at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Phyllis Madden; grandparents, Earnest and Bobbie Terrell; grandson, Tykeem D. Franklin; sister, Suzette Butler, and brother, Willie “Egghead” Butler.
Anthony leaves to cherish his precious memories three sons, Waide D. (TeMeika) Franklin, Anthony W. Madden, Jr., Juwan R. Madden all of Gadsden; four grandchildren, D’Areial Franklin, Iceland, Tajh Franklin, Huntsville, AL, Kai Franklin and his baby girl, Nyla “Bae-Bae” Franklin both of Gadsden, two great-grandchildren, Rocki Franklin, Huntsville, Al, Arianna Franklin, Belgium; brothers, Mack Madden, Anniston, AL, Kenny Madden, Kenneth Madden, Donald Harris (Angela) all of Gadsden, Al, James (Celeste) Madden, Mesquite, TX, Elton (Octavia) Madden, Surprise, AZ; sisters, Clara Madden Miller, Oxford, AL, Pamela Madden, Gadsden, AL; special niece, Natasha Davison Gadsden, AL special nephews, Kendrick Davison and Korrielle Madden both of Gadsden, AL; special friends Rev. Wilburt Gadson, Charles Zeigler, and Dale Robinson, Sr., all of Gadsden, AL; and a host of many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
