A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us in mourning the passing of Mrs. Barbara Carol Bass Lindsey, of Ashland, AL who traded time for eternity on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 76. We ask that you please keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
Barbara Carol Bass Lindsey was born on August 14,1948 in Clay County, Alabama to the late Dallas Bass and Era Mae (Street) Bass.
Barbara attended Clay County Training School. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Barbara married the late Alvin Joe Lindsey and had two daughters.
At an early age she joined Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women Society and Finance Committee. She later became a member of Victory Family Worship Center, where she served faithfully by attending Bible study, cooking and cleaning.
Prior to her retirement she worked at various places. She was employed at Clay County Hospital for 15 years, Tyson Food as supervisor of the cafeteria, Brown Cleaning Service for 10 years, Wellborn Cabinet as supervisor of the cafeteria where she retired in 2010. She came out of retirement to work at Court Square Restaurant for David and Kim Williams, Maggie Smith, and Tracy Messer to each of them she was like a member of their family.
At age 76 Barbara went to her eternal home on July 27, 2025, at Clay County Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Joe Lindsey; her parents, Dallas and Era Mae Bass; her sister, Alice Jean Hann; grandmother, Era Street; son-in-love, Pastor Willie J. Dunn.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Valarie Rhedrick Stowes and Carla Dunn; two grandchildren, Chelsey Stowes and Ayanna Dunn; sisters-in-love, Bonnie Caldwell and Beverly Robinson; and a host of nieces, great-nieces and nephew and great-nephews that she loved so much.
Barbara was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother. She will be missed but never forgotten.
