With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Barbara Jean Stoudemire Warren of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the age of 84. Please keep her daughter and family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
Barbara Jean Stoudemire Warren [affectionately known as Barb] was born December 10, 1940 in Centreville, AL (Bibb County) to the union of Elnora James Stoudemire and the late Kagie Stoudemire, Sr.
Barbara professed her life to Christ at an early age and belonged to Shiloh Baptist Church. She graduated from Bibb County Training School in 1959, and attended Alabama State University in Montgomery Alabama.
She later relocated to Gadsden, Alabama.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie Warren, Jr., on January 10, 1966. She joined First Baptist Church of Alabama City under the leadership of the late Rev S.L. Woods, and remained a faithful member until her health declined.
Barbara was employed at Holy Name of Jesus Hospital, and later began employment at Baptist Memorial Hospital (now known as Gadsden Regional Hospital) where she remained until her retirement in 2002.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her favorite and only grandson, Everett. Watching him participate in activities from T-ball to soccer to football to basketball, and then to performing arts, surprising her with his amazing gift of song and acting is what kept her on her toes.
Barbara leaves to cherish her loving memories her devoted daughter, Tammy Warren, Montgomery, AL; loving grandson, Everett Keith Warren, Montgomery, AL; mother, Elnora Stoudemire, Gardendale, AL; sister, Deborah Lyles, Ellenwood, GA; brothers, Larry Stoudemire, Gardendale, AL; Kagie “Butch” (Mary Jean) Stoudemire, Jr, Centreville, AL; brother-in-law, Billy J. (Vicky) Warren, Gadsden, AL; very special niece, Betty (James) Miller, Warner Robbins, GA; special family friend and neighbor, Mary Wise, as well as special family friends, Jimmie Leonard, Rosie Williams, Gloria Maye, Lorene Hackett, Anthony King and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
