Obituary

Bertha Diann Lindsey Smith was born August 16,1949 to Curtis Greene Lindsey and Hettie Maude Craig Lindsey in Lineville, Alabama.

Bertha joined Bethlehem United Methodist Church at an early age and was a member of the youth program and the choir. She attended Clay County Training School where she was on the dance team and also played both basketball and softball.

Bertha departed her earthly home on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at her residence in Lineville. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hettie Lindsey; her father, Curtis Lindsey; sister, Pauline L. Hale; brothers, James Lindsey, Hubert Lindsey, Alvin J. Lindsey, Curtis Lindsey, Jr., and Horace D. Lindsey.

 

Bertha leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Brian Jermaine Lindsey; sisters, Bonnie Lindsey Caldwell, Beverly Lindsey Robinson, Jo Ann Cooper; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Lindsey, and Barbara Lindsey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; best friends and classmates, Roy Welch and Billy Hardy.
