Calvin Eugene Harris

It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Mr. Calvin E. Harris of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Sunday, July 27, 2022, at the age of 69.

Calvin Eugene  Harris was born  February 23,1953 to Leronza Harris,  Sr. and Lena Lee Guice Harris in Gadsden,  Alabama. 

Calvin confessed Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church in Alabama city.

Calvin was educated in the Gadsden Public School System and post-secondary education was continued at Gadsden Technical College.

Calvin's employment started during his adolescent years at Greyhound Bus Station and Rich Hotel of Gadsden. Calvin later in life transitioned to Montgomery, Alabama. There he started his career at Alabama State University for 25 years until retirement. 

Calvin retired and moved back to Gadsden.  Where he enjoyed being with family.  He enjoyed watching western movies and entertaining on the patio from sun up to sun down.  . .  Truly A Life Well Lived.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Leronza Harris, Sr., and Lena Lee Guice Harris; sister, Debra Ann Harris Speigner; brother, Charles Henry Harris; grandparents Reese and Annie Guice, Henry and Mammie Harris. 

Calvin's journey on this side of Heaven ended as he transitioned peacefully into eternal life on Sunday, July 31, 2022.  A life well lived...a brother well loved and a friend well cherished. 

Calvin will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted  brothers, Leon W Harris, Otis W. Harris and Leronza Harris, Jr.; sister-in-love, Kathleen Jenkins Harris Cunningham, Denise H. Wills; Calvin was blessed with outstanding nephews and nieces, Kenneth (Martha) Moore,  Lavon Harris, Lashun Harris, Christopher Harris, Marlin (Latisha) Harris, Demarrio (Toi) Harris, Brandon Speigner, Brandi (Reginald) Feagin, Andreane (Clive) Mallett; 14 great-nieces and nephews; one great-  great-niece; Calvin was blessed with extended family sisters, Stephanie Guice, Joyce Rawls, Vanessa Morgan, Kimberly Threatt, and Margie Rawls; brothers, Michael Threatt, David Harville, Timothy Hightower, Jesse  Rawls, Anthony Smith; a host of family and friends
