A life so beautifully lived deserves to be remembered beautifully. Please join us in mourning the earthly transition of Clera Adams of Gadsen, AL, who traded time for eternity on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the age of 92. Please keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this time of sorrow.
Mrs. Clera V. Gregory Adams was born in Opp, AL on February 12, 1932, to William Howard and Ella Mack Gregory. She was the second of four children.
She was educated at Pickens County Training School in Carrollton, Alabama.
She moved to Gadsden to live with her Aunt Katie and Uncle Freeman Dixon. On May 15, 1954, she married William "Billy" L. Adams, Jr. With this union, three children were born. She had a genuine love for all children. She nurtured her nieces, nephews, and children in the neighborhood. She worked at Carver Day Care and loved all the children passing through the center. She was adored by many and all who came into contact with her.
She joined Union Baptist Church and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as chairwoman of the Helen Long Circle until her health began to fail her. Clera loved working with the ladies of the circle. She also served on the usher board and in several other capacities in the church.
Clera answered the Lord's call on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in the evening, surrounded by her caring family.
