It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Mr. Curlie B. Deramus of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the age of 75. We ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Curlie Bernard DeRamus was born in Autauga County on February 14, 1947, to Thomas J. (T.J.) DeRamus, Sr. and Rev. Jerrie D. DeRamus.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Thomas J. (T.J.) DeRamus, Sr., and Rev. Jerrie D. DeRamus; sister, Mary Bush.
Curlie was a community activist, he was active in his church, Coosa River Valley Association, and a radio personality. He was a beautiful person with an outspoken voice, great wisdom, and a lovely spirit.
He was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
Curlie is survived by his wife, Patricia DeRamus; nine children, Terrance DeRamus, Ma'Kiya DeRamus, Ma'Lik DeRamus, Ma'Kayla DeRamus, My'Asia DeRamus, Kaden DeRamus, Tomica (Reginald) Young, Kirk Williams, and Laterrance Bush; three brothers, Johhny Rhodes, Theotis (Veronica) DeRamus, and Thomas DeRamus; six grandchildren; special friend, Dr. K. Solomon Williams, and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and many dear friends.
