Darnell DeShun Kidd

With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Darnell Deshun "Og Dunka" Kidd of Gadsden, AL, who traded time for eternity on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the age of 46.  We ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Darnell Deshun “Duncan” Kidd “Og Dunk” was born on June 10,1978, to Willie Pearl “Rita” Kidd and the late Donald “Peanut” Benjamin, in San Diego, CA.

Darnell is preceded in death by his dad, Donald Ned “Peanut” Benjamin; sister, Latoya Kidd Majors, and a brother Marcus Kidd.

Darnell started his education in Talladega School System and moved to Gadsden School System at an early age.

Darnell leaves to cherish his memories to his one and only precious daughter, Le’Asia Dark; his devoted loving mother, Willie Pearl Kidd; three brothers, Ronald (Rondreaca) Kidd, Talladega, AL, Cornelius Hall, Gadsden, AL, John Benjamin, Sanford, NC; three sisters, Charnell McKenzie, Talladega, AL, Nakia Benjamin, and Tanika Benjamin, both of Sanford, NC; two devoted aunts, Marilyn (Josephus) Garrett, Talladega, AL, Sharon (Craig) Washington, Sylacauga, AL, and Sharon Benjamin; mother of his daughter, Keta Dark, and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins and friends.
