Devoy Dantý Thomas

With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Devoy Dantý Thomas of Leeds, formerly of Birmingham, who traded time for eternity Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the age of 60. 

Devoy Danty Thomas was born September 9, 1963, in Birmingham, Alabama to the parentage of Bobby and Brunetta Thomas Long.

He accepted Christ at an early age and later became a member of Apostolic Flow Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Israel Jones, Sr.

He attended and graduated from Wenonah High School. After 18 years he retired from Birmingham Park and Recreation. On February 18, 1995, he married the love of his life, Minister Pamela Thomas, and to this union Devyn Ardell Thomas was born.

Devoy loved fishing, barbequing, playing the lottery, going to the casino with his mom and going to the movies.  His favorite artists were Howard Hewitt, Stephanie Mills and Yolanda Adams.

Devoy traded time for eternity on Saturday, December 23, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents,  Bobby and Brunetta Long; and brother, Carlton Long.

Devoy is survived by his wife, Pamela Thomas; sons, Devyn Ardell Thomas, Demetrious Kidd; grandchildren, Demia, Tatiana, Devonna, Keia, Lisa, Demetrious Jr., Keshia; sisters, Barbara (Quinton) Carter, Catherine (Joel) Morrissette; nephews, Ardell (Meaghan) Wheeler, Devonte Carter, Errick (Natassja) Wheeler, Kenyah Carter, Dorian Carter, Johntarious (Porsha) Jairrels, Michael Jairrels; mother-in-law, Min. Fannie Bishop; sisters-in-law, Rochelle (Chuck) Coulter, Mandy (Rachel) Bishop,  and a host of great-nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
