With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Doris Jean White of Anniston, who traded time for eternity on Monday, November 17, 2025 at the age of 71.
Doris Jean White was born in Gadsden, Alabama on July 25, 1954, to the late Mr. Leroy White and the late Mrs. Louise White.
At an early age, she confessed Christ as her savior and was baptized at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.
Doris graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1972. She attended Gadsden State Community College and graduated from UAB Nursing School.
Doris retired from Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama with 34 years of faithful service. During her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, planting flowers, arts and crafts, coloring and cooking.
Doris entered her eternal rest on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Louise White; brother, William “Earl” White; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron White and Mr. and Mrs. William White; nephews, Roderick White, Kendre White and Trenton White.
Doris leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, two sons, Bobby Jerald Prothro II, Joshua E. (Jacenta) Prothro, both of Anniston, AL; grandchildren, Aaliyai Bailey, Aalyiva Bailey, Tyree, Bailey, Jashaun E. Prothro, Sarai L. Madden, Jalah E. Prothro and Jalaysia E. Prothro; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Nehemiah Bailey, and Akari Bizzit; siblings, Leon (Doretha) White, Aron (Rita) White, Thelma (Marlin) Millender, Kenneth Wayne (Paula) White, and Carolyn (Steven) Harris; sister-in-law, Betty White; aunt, Betty (Thomas) Pugh; special cousin, Katie Lee Young, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
