It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Edward Charles Hunter of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the age of 71. We ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Mr. Edward Charles Hunter was born in Etowah County, Gadsden Alabama to Mr. Ouster Hunter and Annie Mae Johnson Hunter on June 2, 1954.
Jap was educated in the Gadsden City Schools system and served in the United States Army.
Edward enjoyed being an entrepreneur being his own boss, he moved to Detroit Michigan and open up a record store and a grocery store, his last entrepreneur was doing landscaping which he enjoyed being on the outside getting the free SunShine Vitamin.
He departed this life on Friday April 3, 2026 at Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga TN.
Edward was preceded in death by so many loved-ones, his mother, Annie Mae Marshall; father, Ouster Hunter; a devoted step-father, Arthur Marshall; siblings, Arthur Hunter, Eunice Rutledge, Alice Knight, Michelle Thomas, Amos Hunter and Walter Hunter.
Edward leaves to cherish his memory to his children, Shanita (TJ) Rumely, Edward (Dena) Hunter, Tracy Beden, Crystal Beden, and Antonio Hunter all of Detroit, MI, Katisha Hunter, New York, and Jamie Hester, Gadsden, AL; grandchildren, Amirah Lockett, Alyssa Virden, Te’Leah Beden, Deandre Harvin, Edward Elijah Hunter, Eden Elizabeth Hunter, Micheal Davis and Brianna Hunter; siblings, John Henry Hunter, Annie Lee Wilson, Katherine Ford, Ouster Hunter all of Gadsden, AL, Sandra Hunter, Birmingham, AL and Ella R. Norman of Huntsville, AL and a host of neices, nephews and cousins.
