It is with heartfelt sympathy, that we announce the passing of Elder Jeremiah Jackson, Sr., of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Monday, January 29, 2024, at the age of 83. We ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Our beloved father, Jeremiah Jackson, Sr., sadly passed away on January 29, 2024, at the age of 83.
Jeremiah Jackson was born on January 23, 1941, in Sylacauga, Talladega County, Alabama to the union of the late Clannie and Lear Garrett Jackson.
Jeremiah worked and retired from Bekaert Corporation in Rome, GA. Jeremiah also worked and retired from Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. On July 31, 1991, Jeremiah accepted Christ to become an Ordained Minister. He also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Gadsden, AL where he lived.
He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Myrle A. Green Jackson; siblings, Clannie Jackson, Jr., Margaret Jackson Edwards, Estella Jackson, Lucille Jackson, Henrietta Jackson, and Rose Lee Jackson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Loretta Jackson, (Rome, GA), Jeremiah (Culmella) Jackson Jr., Calhoun, GA, Gloria Jackson, (Rome, GA), and Wilma D. Jackson (Karl A.) March, Augusta, GA, James Jackson, Rome, GA; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Jackson, Hamilton, OH, Willie Lindsey, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews.
