Ella Bradford Obituary

It is with deep sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Ella Bradford, who traded time for eternity on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the age of 90.  We ask that you please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

 

Mrs. Ella Woods Bradford was born in Ashville, Alabama on October 30, 1931, to Mr. Pate Woods and Mrs. Fronia Thompson. She lost her parents at an early age.  Ella and her brothers were raised by her aunt, Ella Dean.  

Mrs. Bradford was married to Mr. Clarence “Pete” Bradford and they were blessed with three sons, Eddie Bradford and Lawrence Edward Bradford, and a step-son, Clarence Bradford Tiller.  

Mrs. Bradford accepted Christ at an early age.  Ella was a long-time member of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Gadsden, AL and when she moved to Georgia, Ella joined New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA. She taught children’s Sunday School at Sixteenth Street Baptist Church for many years.  Ella graduated from Ashville Colored High School and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. She attended Gadsden State College for nursing and was a certified nursing assistant.  

Mrs. Bradford retired from Gadsden Healthcare and Rehab.  Ella was a cherished member of the Red Hat group, “The Elegant Ladies”, where she held the title “Countess”. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Ella passed into eternity on Friday, July 1, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Pete” Bradford; son, Lawrence Edward (Eunice) Bradford; grandson, Robert (Seneca) Bradford; parents, Pate and Fronia Woods; sister, Savannah Woods; and brothers, Willie Oscar Woods, Sr., Fred Douglas Woods, John Paul Woods, and Curtis Gene Woods.
Mrs. Bradford leaves to cherish her precious memories son, SFC (Ret) Eddie  (Linda) Bradford, Conyers, GA; stepson, Clarence Bradford (Jean) Tiller, Turnerhill, NJ; granddaughters, Keindrell Marche (Keith) Calloway, Atlanta GA, Tambra Denise Bradford, Tucker, GA, Angela Yvonne (Rashad) Morton Cumming, GA; grandson, Lawrence Edward (Keysha) Bradford, Westfield NJ; great-granddaughters, Zaiha Marche Jemison, Houston TX, Madison Kay Bradford, Westfield, NJ, Brooke Ann Bradford, Westfield, NJ, Ava Camille Morton, and Olivia Rose Morton, Cumming, GA; great-grandsons, Martevious Lee Howard, Houston, TX, Koltin Temar Howard (US Navy), Christian Trayvon Bradford, Winder, GA; great-great-grandson, Brandon Lee Howard, Houston, TX; great-great-granddaughter, Lelani Ella Howard, Houston, TX; step-granddaughter, Michelle Tiller, Turnerhill, NJ; step-grandson, Marc (DonnaKay) Tiller, and step-great-grandson Justin Tiller, Bruner, Florida. She also leaves special nieces; Doris Woods Lollar, Ashville, AL and Barbara Green, Decatur, GA; nieces, Pearlie Woods, Minnie Baker, Sharon Bradford, and Linda Negron all of Ashville, AL, Evon Wise, Attalla, AL, Devon Williams, Darleen Graves; nephews, Clarence Woods and John W. Bradford, Jr. special friends, Phyllis Woosley and Ruby Palmer and a host of family and friends.
