Ellene "Alice" (Sterling) Shepard

With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Ellene "Alice" Sterling Shepard of Lineville,  who traded time for eternity on Saturday,  October 26, 2024 at the age of 77.

Alice was born on July 9, 1947 in Randolph County, AL to the parentage of the late Bernice Sterling Lawson and Ezra Welch. 

She attended Clay County Training School of Lineville, AL class of 1967. She accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She attended Ayers State College in Cosmetology for a short period, and she also worked at Lineville Head Start for many years until she retired in 2003. 

She married Raymond H. Shepard in 1992. Alice and Raymond both brought children to the marriage.

Alice was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Lawson; step-father, Raymond “Papa” Lawson; father, Ezra Welch; her loving husband, Raymond Howard Shepard; sisters, Marylene Sterling, Aridean Aaron, and brother, Thurman Sterling.

She is survived by her children, Lynette Allen of Huntsville, AL, Marcus Sterling of Huntsville, AL, Sharon (Beneto) Deer of New Market, AL, Theron Shepard of Lineville, AL, Raymond M.
