With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Evangelist Jimmie Lou Phillips Goodwin, of Lineville, who traded her cross for a crown on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the age of 84. We ask that you keep her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Jimmie Lou Phillips Goodwin was born on April 22, 1940, in Clay County, Ashland, Alabama to James Roy Phillips and Gennie Bell (Lindsey-McClain) Phillips.
Jimmie Lou surrendered to gain new life on May 12, 2024, at the Clay County Nursing facility.
Jimmie Lou graduated from Clay County Training School class of 1959.
Jimmie Lou married Freddy L. Goodwin in 1998.
Jimmie Lou was employed by Ace Products, in Lineville Alabama for 32 years.
At age 62 she fully retired and traveled with her husband Freddy on his work trips.
Jimmie Lou is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ida Mae McClain, and Ruby Lee (Ruth) Phillips Clark; brothers, Willie Lee McClain, Howard Phillips, Jesse Phillips, and Floyd Phillips; Kenya Marie Davenport also precedes her in death, a cherished granddaughter of her and Leonard Davenport.
Surviving is her husband of 26 years, Freddy L. Goodwin; children, Shequetha (Geathers) Heard, Earl (Veronica) Davenport, Debra (Phillip) Hall, Pamela (Onyewuchi) Johnson, Connie (Garrett) Dark, Freddie (Shavone) Clark and Denise (Maurice) Jackson; brother, Charles (Johnnie Mae) Phillips, Tampa Florida; sisters-in-law, Brenette (Andrew) Hardy, Sherry (Lamar) Wright, Jeanette Craig, and Ann Landers; brothers-in-law, Harold (Roshell) Boyd, Charles (Patsy) Davenport; surviving grandchildren, Jaumar Geathers, and Phineus (Janice) Geathers, Sinatra (Erica), Jermaine and Alfonsus Onyewuchi, Charles and Nathan Hall, Porsha Garrett (JT) Jairrels, Darius Davenport, Keyshawn Davenport, Aundra Johnson, Jr., Tre, Ian, Shamyra and Shania Clark; surviving great-grandchildren, Jaleel and Olivia Geathers, Kobe Jairrels, Jazelle Onyewuchi, Elijah, Eden, Ezekiel, Jerusalem and Solomon Onyewuchi; a special mention of her best friend (BFF) of 45 years, Pastor Cathy Lyles; special godchildren, Veronica Lynn, Michael, and Chris O’Neal; also, a special mention of two nieces she cherished, Kimberly Phillips, Atlanta, Georgia, and Sondra (Craig) Gittens, New York, and all other nieces, nephews, godchildren, prior in-laws, lifelong friends, and church family.
