Evelen Joyce (McCloud) Freeman

It is with deep sympathy we announce the passing of Ms. Evelyn Joyce McCloud Freeman of Columbus, OH, who transitioned on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 70.  We ask that you keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during the difficult time.

Evelyn Joyce Freeman, age 70 was called home on Sunday, July 17, 2022. Evelyn was born on Saturday, September 8, 1951, in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Arthur & Pastor Susie McCloud, a union from which 16 children were born.

Evelyn was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was truly the matriarch of her family. Evelyn managed to leave an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. She provided a home, a warm meal, love and guidance to so many. She will be missed, deeply.

Her Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur & Susie McCloud; siblings, Betty McCloud, Arthur McCloud Jr, 3 infant siblings; daughter, Betsy McCloud; grandsons, Ronald Lee Bryant Jr., and Bobby Ray Wilson Jr. preceded her in death. 

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Bobby Freeman; her children, Velma (Earnest) Nix, Fannie (Bobby) Hill, Bobby (Javon) Wilson Sr., Robin (Anthony) Michael, and Alonzo (DeAnna) Wilson Jr.; stepchildren, LaShunda Freeman, Larissa Freeman, Bobby Miller, 19 grandchildren; 20 plus great-grandchildren; siblings, Annie Catherine Washington, Joann (Lewis) Sturkie, Sharon McCloud, Robert McCloud, Calvin McCloud, Jaquetta (Quinton) Hugley, Kenneth (April) McCloud, Anguhla (Stephen) Griffin, Bonnie (William) Reed, and Janet Kennedy; her bonus children, she did not birth them but had an enormous hand in raising them, Michael (Maria) McCloud, Kimberly Billingsly, Katina Wilson, and Robert Wilson Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
