George Willie Gadson

February 13, 1947 ~ November 10, 2021 (age 74)


It is with sincere sympathy we announce the passing of Mr. George Willie Gadson of Gadsden, AL, who transitioned on Tuessday, November 10, 2021 at the age of 74.  We ask that you please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Mr. George Willie Gadson "Richard" was born to the union of the late Mr. Ernest Gadson, Sr. and Mrs. Priscilla H. Gadson on February 13, 1947. George accepted Christ at an early age. He united with First Baptist Church Alabama City under the pastorate of the late Rev. E. L. Gary. He later united with Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Gadsden, AL under the pastorate of the late Rev. Roszell Gadson, Sr. He served as the piano player for the Sunday School. George was a 1965 graduate of Carver High School, where he was a member of the Carver High School Band. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest Gadson, Jr., Johnny B. Gadson, Rev. Roszell L. Gadson, Sr., and Jessie R. Gadson; sisters, Emily G. Howard, and Alberta Gadson. George departed this life at Riverview Regional Medical Center on November 10, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories a brother Wallace (Zell) Gadson; sister, Josephine G. Harrold; sister-in-law, Delores P. Gadson; nephews, Cedric J. (Sidney) Gadson, Evangelist A. M. Harrold, Jr., Alton M. Harrold, Roszell Gadson, Jr.; nieces, Saundra Gadson, Patrice G. Kelly, Jonnetta Gadson, Pangela G. McGee; special cousin Jessie Pringle, and other relatives and friends.
