With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of George Washington Hann of Martinsville, VA, formerly of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the age of 74.
George Washington Hann was born on January 26, 1951 to the late Ollie Mae Hann in Randolph County Alabama.
George was a graduate of Etowah High School and attended Gadsden State Junior College. He proudly served his country in the United States military during the Vietnam War. Following his service, George began a long and dedicated career with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, from which he retired after more than 30 years of faithful service.
George was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Mae Hann; and his brothers, Joseph Hann, Gary Hann, and Sgt. James Hann.
He leaves to cherish his memories his two sons, Brandon Joseph Hann and Justin Brent Hann; brother, Calvin (Sandra) Hann of Gadsden; aunts, Annie Lee Hann of Roanoke, AL and Dorothy Lindsey of Gadsden, AL, and nephews Dennis Stewart and Gary Hann.
