Irene Dupree Obituary

It is with deep sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Irene Allen Dupree of Birmingham, AL, who transitioned on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the age of 83.  We ask that you keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.  

Irene Allen Dupree was the 2nd born to the union of the late Charlie and Paralee Major Allen on September 27, 1939.

Irene professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the Providence Baptist Church.
Irene was a devoted member,  Mother of the Church, once upon a time she was over the kitchen committee, a choir member, attended Sunday School faithfully, and was a matron.
Irene received her education at the Hatcher High School where she successfully completed her academic requirements to graduate in 1958.

Irene had a love for cooking, working puzzle books, and showing love by sending out cards to everyone. some of her pastime favorite things to do were watching Family Feud, Tyler Perry plays, and talking to her family and friends on the phone daily. she touched many lives and played multiple roles for many people, such as mother, auntie, friend, and granny, she was known to others as Dunne, Biscuit, and Dupe. 

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dupree; son, Ray Kyle Sr.; her parents, Charlie, and Paralee Allen; grandparents; sisters, Dorothy Nell Hood and Rosa Faulkner; brothers, Marvin and J.C. Allen. 

Irene leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Lynn (James) McCray, Birmingham, AL; son, William (Sherri) Dupree, Centre, AL; four special nieces/daughters, Sharon Walker, Darlene (Cedric) Williams, Monica Hood, Nikki Allen; grandchildren, Jamon (Jessika) McCray, Demetrius Borden, Kyonna Dupree, Jadarius and Javeas McCray, Tracy (Maurice) Zeigler, Tiajuana Kyle, Ray (Barbara) Kyle Jr.; a host of great-grands; four special nieces and nephews, Shequita Wood, Jevante Hood, Raven Williams, Briana Jones; daughter-in-law, Gloria Kyle, Stone Mountain, GA; uncle, Ike Whatley, Cleveland, Ohio; aunt, Verdell Walton, Birmingham, AL; sisters-in-law, Ethel and Marilyn Allen, brother-in-law, Willie C. Hood; special daughters, Terri (Randy) Kelly, Lydia (Glenn) Glover, Tremaine Bynum, Donnica ”Gravy” Starr, special friends, Mae Bowers, Judy Phearson, Shirlette Clifton, Emily Rooks, Bessie Granger.
