J C Knight

J.C. Knight, age 92, was born in Wedowee, Alabama, on February 28th, 1930, to the Late Jessie James Knight and Minnie Ethel Knight.

He attended Ashland Elementary School, only completing the sixth grade. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for many years, singing in the male choir until he could no longer attend. He retired from Clay County Hospital and Nursing Home after over 30 years of service. His favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, and caring for his cats.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers; Sonny Knight, Lynn Knight, J.W. Knight, George Knight, William Knight, B.H. Knight, sisters; Christine Williams, Helen Glenn, Annie Laura Jones, sons; James Curtis Knight, Cecil J. Knight, daughter; Annie Ruth Knight, granddaughters; Franquie Johnson and Tekeylah Climmons.

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Shirley Jane (Tuck) Knight;  daughters, Lou Charles, Brenda Griffin, Mechele Knight, Mammierelle Johnson (Steve), Dianna Cameron (Tim), Mentoria Knight (Melvin), Nellie Ruth Cottingham (Charles); sons, Lavell Knight, Melvin Knight (Kim), Wayne Knight (Stephanie), Willie Frank Knight (Brandi), thirty-one grandchildren, ninety-six great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, siblings, Henry Knight, Nellie Jean Glenn, Geraldine Hines, Ruth Simon; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
