With deepest sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Ja'Quan Smith of Ashland, who went from labor to reward on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the age of 23.
Ja'Quan Tyree "Fat Daddy" Smith was born October 12, 2002 to Bobby Tyree Smith and the late Chanda Evette Russell Robinson (Albert) in Anniston, Alabama.
He attended Springhill Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age.
Ja'Quan graduated from Central High School of Clay County. He started working at age 12 with cattle and horses. He was employed at the Clay County Sheriff's Department and was presently employed at Ellis Trucking Company as a driver when the Lord called him home.
Ja'Quan was a people person with a heart of gold. His love for others touched everyone that knew him. He loved big trucks, fishing, motorcycles, four wheelers, dancing, singing, hunting, listening to music, and riding horses. He was a big Alabama Fan "Roll Tide".
He was preceded in death by his mother, Chanda Russell Robinson; grandmothers, Emma Jean Woodruff and Gladys Weathers; grandfathers, Anthony Russell, Winston Lanier, Eugene Weathers, and Howard Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, "his world", Blakely Leigh Smith; father, Bobby Tyree Smith (Sasha Searcy) of Lineville; brother, Jermicheal DeShaun Simmons; sisters, Genesis Smith and Harper Smith; grandmother, Suzanne Russell; grandfather, Cecil Ray Caldwell; aunt, Renae Gutierrez of Ashland, AL; uncles, Davod Little, Jerome Russell and Dewayne Russell all of Anniston, AL; step-father, Albert Robinson of Eastaboga; he had many special friends, including Kassidy Snider, and Derick Edmonson and a host of other aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
Ja'Quan was close to all of his family and friends and loved them very much.
