With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of James Jordan of Lineville, who traded time for eternity on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at the age of 79.
James Bankston Jordan was born to the union of George and Kathryn Brooks Jordan on August 19, 1945 in Lafayette, Lafayette County, Alabama.
James was educated in the Lafayette City School System and graduated from North High School in Youngstown, OH. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army while living in Ohio. He faithfully served his country and was honorably discharged from active duty. He continued to help and assist other veterans as much as he could and was a member of the DAV Post#98 in Anniston Alabama.
After his separation from the army, James worked for General Motors in Youngstown, OH as a Skilled Trade Operator until retirement. Retirement lead him back closer to his roots in Alabama, where he established a home in Lineville, AL.
"Jimmy", as he was affectionately called, was always doing something from sun up to sun down. He enjoyed working in the yard, working on cars and refurbishing old houses.
"Jimmy" departed this life on on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 after a couple extended battles with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kathryn Brooks Jordan; son, Johnathan Jordan; daughter, Stevelyn Thompkins; sisters, Addie McGiver, Lillie Taylor, Lillian Ridel; brothers, George Jordan, Larry Jordan, Harry Jordan, William Jordan and Grady Jordan.
Those left to cherish his life and legacy included his loving and devoted wife, Robin Jordan, Lineville, AL; daughters, Shanequah Nall, Lineville, AL, Arielle Brown- Truss, Jacksonville, AL; sons, James Jordan, II, Casey (Michelle) Jordan, Joseph Jordan, all of Youngstown, OH, Jason (Shameka) Nall, Lithonia, GA, daughter-in-law, Rita Jordan, Youngston, OH; sisters; Gloria Jean (Aldren) Sadler, Conyers, GA, Charis Jordan, Youngstown, Ohio, Betty (Lorenzo) Woody, Lafayette, AL; brother, Wilson (Francine) Billingsley, Ellenwood, GA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jason Nall, William Travis, Mario Jordan, James Jordan, II, Charles Nall and Kevin Cherry, III.
Ministers will be Pastor George Nall and Reverend Aldren Sadler.
