James Wallace Obituary

It is with deep sympathy, we announce the passing of Mr. James Wallace of Gadsden, Alabama, who transitioned on Friday, December 31, 2021, at the age of 59.  We ask that you please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

 


On August 19, 1962, James Dewayne Wallace was born to the late Mary Louise Wallace and James Suttle, Gadsden, AL.
At the age of 50, he confessed his faith in Christ with Fellowship Baptist Church, in Gadsden Al, under the leadership of Pastor Scottie Rice.
His goal education was received at Emma Samson High School then afterward at Auburn University where he played football.
James, also known as "Wallace" always enjoyed cooking, grilling, and going to college football games. James was an avid Auburn football fan. James was a very outspoken person with a strong personality. James didn't back down for anybody and stood tall no matter the circumstances.
James departed this life on Friday, December 31, 2021.

Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Wallace; aunts, Hazel Kimble and Bronzelle Taylor; uncles, Nathaniel Ned Gaddis and Michael Gaddis.
Many loving and cherished memories of Wayne will be remembered by his daughters, Erica Wallace, Atlanta, GA, Danielle Wallace, Hinesville, GA; grandchildren, Kennedi Burke, Brielle Jarvis, both of Atlanta, GA; sister, Melanie Wallace, Ellenwood, GA; brothers, Daryl (Shanna Wallace), Ernest (Kristie) Wallace, all of Gadsden, AL; wife Rebecca Wallace, Carrollton, GA; stepchildren; Alisha and Eddie Huff, both of Carrollton, GA; mother-in-law, Bobbie Horton, Gadsden, AL; sisters-in-law, Betty Horton, Kimberly Spear both of Gadsden, AL; brothers-in-law, Allen Horton, and Jerome Horton both of Gadsden, AL; uncle, William Gaddis, Gadsden, AL; aunts, Vanessa Brown, Dallas, GA, Virginia Gaddis, Douglasville, GA, Carolyn (Freddie) Jackson, Priscilla Frazier, Jacqueline (Robert) Simmons, all of Gadsden, AL, Martha Wallace, Columbus, OH; uncle, James (Faith) Dixon, Long Island, NY; William (Ester) Dixon, Fayetteville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
