With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Jeannie Elaine Chappell Jelks of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the age of 68.
Jeannie Elaine Jelks was born in Etowah County on March 18, 1957 to the late CV and Margaret Chappell.
Jeannie dedicated her life to Christ at a early age at Sweet Home United Methodist Church.
She attended Gadsden School System where she finished with the class of 1975 at Gadsden High School, she furthered her education at Gadsden State.
She was employed by Koch Foods for many years until she heard the Master's call.
She was preceded in death by her parents, CV and Margaret Chappell; grandparents, K. V. and Estella Chappell and Jake and Mary Brookins.
Ms. Jeannie Chappell Jelks answered God's call and received her wings on March 27, 2025.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Tiffany Scott, Gadsden; three brothers, Kenneth (Kathy) Chappell, El Paso, TX, Nathan Chappell (Gwendolyn), Topeka, KS, Michael Chappell, Las Vegas, Nevada; two aunts, Mrs. Annette (Calvin) Ellis, Detroit, MI, Mrs. Clara Bustion, Brockton, MA; a special friend Gwendolyn Weathers a loving caring and devoted cousin/sister Barbara Townsend Powell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
