With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Joe Ed "Snook" Simmons of Millerville, who traded time for eternity on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the age of 81.
Mr. Joe Ed Simmons began his journey through life on August 25, 1943. He was born in Ashland, Alabama to the union of Otis Smith and Sarah Simmons Billingsley. The Lord called Joe home on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
Joe dedicated his life at an early age at Mt. Tabor UMC in Millerville. Later in life he became a member of House of Deliverance in Lineville.
He attended Ashland Jr. High School.
Joe worked at Tyson in Ashland for many years and later at Ace Products in Lineville until his retirement.
Joe loved being with his family and watching TV. Some of his favorite programs were Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah S. Billingsley; father, Otis Smith; and brother, William D. Simmons.
He leaves to cherish his memories, sister, Cyndi (James) Smith of Lineville; and brothers, Verona Simmons of Millerville, Tony Smith of Ashland, and Otis (Pam) Smith, Jr. of Enterprise and a host of nephews and nieces and a special loved one Priscilla Saylor.
