With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the earthly transition of Joel Wyatt of Harrisburg, PA, formerly of Turkeytown, who traded time for eternity on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the age of 58.
Joel Kenneth Wyatt, affectionately known as Kenny, was born on September 11, 1967, to Joseph Wyatt and Emogene Southerlin Wyatt in Turkey Town, Alabama.
Kenny was baptized at an early age and was a faithful member of the Wiesbaden Protestant Gospel Service in Wiesbaden, Germany. He was a graduate of Gaston High School in Gadsden, Alabama. He furthered his education by completing online coursework with the University of Alabama and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia.
In 1993, Kenny enlisted in the United States Army, where he honorably served his country for over twenty years before retiring. Following his military retirement, he continued his dedication to public service as a Civilian Employee with the Department of the Navy in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, where he was employed until his passing. Kenny was also an avid supporter of the homeless and actively participated in Feed the Children Programs in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Joseph H. Wyatt; his mother, Emogene Southerlin Wyatt; his sisters, Emma Lou Hardy and Juanita Southerlin Wyatt; his brother, Tommy D. Wyatt.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 38 years, Wannica C. Wyatt; three children, Kendall J. (Nicole) Wyatt , Darius T. Wyatt, and Jaylin M. Wyatt; one beloved grandson, his heartbeat, Makhai N. Wyatt, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; he also leaves four Godchildren, Terica Dupree of Leesburg, Alabama, Joi Black of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Kaydence Florence of Kissimmee, Florida and Xvion Sullivan of Manassas, Virginia; two sisters, Jacqueline Wyatt and Valerie Wyatt, both of Turkey Town, Alabama; six brothers, Tony L. (Ann) Wyatt of Turkey Town, Alabama, Mitchell K. Wyatt of Titusville, Florida, Steven B. Wyatt of Newport News, Virginia, Jonathan H. Wyatt of Gadsden, Alabama, Gerald S. Wyatt of Atlanta, Georgia, and Walter S. Wyatt of Gadsden, Alabama, and a host of other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
