A Celebration of Life Service was held for Mr. John Stewart, 76, Tuesday, May 2, 2023, 11:00 A. M. at First Baptist Church in Ashland with Pastor Rusty Craig officiating.
Mr. Stewart passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a supervisor at Alabama Power Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ashland.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lydia Phillips Stewart of Ashland; two daughters, Kim Stewart Hall (Dwayne) of Eastaboga, and Wendy Stewart Spiering (Jason) of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Ericka Young, Alli Hall (Blake), Breanna Morrison (Brett), Kayla Neve (Tim), and Ryan Carroll (Tyndall); six great-grandchildren, Everly Carroll, Easton Meigs, Brantley, Jack, Josianne and Edie Morrison; his sister, Regina Brady (Larry) of Trussville; and two brothers, Joe Bob Jones (Jewell) of Ashland and Jackie Jones (Cindy) of Gadsden.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Stewart Jones.
Services were provided by Adams-Buggs Funeral Service.
