Katherine (Woody) Green

With heartfelt sympathy we announce the earthly transition of Katherine Woody Green of Gadsden, who traded time for eternity on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the age of 72.

Katherine Woody Green was born on January 31, 1952, to the union of James Ashford Woody, Jr., and Mattie Lou Stover Woody, in Gadsden, AL.

Katherine accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Baptist Missionary Church, she graduated from Carver High School in 1971. Katherine enjoyed cooking, watching her grandchildren, CSI, and Family Feud, and was an Auburn University fan.

Katherine married Jimmy Lee Green, the love of her life.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, James A. Woody, Jr., and Mattie L. Woody; brothers, Nathaniel Woody, Kenneth Woody, Earl Woody, Harold Woody, James O. Woody; sisters-in-law, Wilodean Woody, and Mildred Woody; mother-in-law, Earline McCloyd; brothers-in-law, Anthony Wayne Christian, Walter Ricky Lawler; special sister, Janice Huffman.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jimmy L. Green; children, Antonio Green, and Nikki Green; bonus daughter, Valarie Mooney; grandchildren, Sinchina Green, QuShonda Green, Arze' Green, Yazmine and TJ Tyler, Shon Green, Tony Green, Zuriya Hayes, Cedric "CJ" Hayes, Alexis (Taylor) Causey, Simone Timmons, great-grandchildren, Antonio "Ace" Jones, Layla Vincent, and Ivory Rose Causey; sister, Mattie Louise Woody; sisters-in-law, Ella Woody, Kaye Christian-Price, Olivia McCloud Fomby; brother-in-law, Larry D. Green; special sister and brother, Karen Huffman, and Steve (Christie) Huffman; special friends, Julia Conwell, Wilma May, Lorenza Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
