Kathy Lynn (Wright) Brown

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.  Please join Adams-Buggs in mourning the passing of Mrs. Kathy Lynn Wright Brown, of Gadsden, AL who traded time for eternity on Monday, February 3, 2025 at the age of 65.  

Kathy was born in Gadsden, AL on August 4, 1959, in Gadsden, AL to the parents of Lee Edward Wright and Dorothy Lou Lipscomb Wright.

Kathy graduated from Gadsden High School in 1977 and completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Jacksonville State University in 1980. She was a proud member of THE Kappa Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 

Kathy loved the Lord with her whole heart, singing merry melodies, and laughing and playing games with her family.

Kathy united into holy matrimony to Walter Brown on August 6, 1986. Kathy enjoyed serving alongside her husband. They were youth ministers for more than 30 years at Union Baptist and United Christian Church in Gadsden, AL, and Cherokee Christian Church in Centre, AL. 

Kathy worked at Gadsden State in the Public Relations department and retired with 25 years of service in August 2024.

Kathy traded mortal for immortality on Monday, February 3, 2025 surround by family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Edward and Dorothy Lou Wright; her older brothers, Michael, Maurice and Alan Wright. 

Those left to cherish her legacy including her devoted husband, Walter Brown; sons, Jared and Detrick Brown; daughter, Unjole Brown; grandchildren, Trey Brown, Dazha Jelks and JaKobe Brown; and several beloved great-grandsons; her brothers, Gerald, Kenneth and Dyran (Cynthia) Wright; and a host of cherished nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great nieces.
